Housed inside an IP67 rugged lightweight case the new Portable CP500 offers the same functionality as the standard CP500 Power module from Duvine but weigh’s only 7kgs.

Designed to be used in the field as a temporary installation or for testing onsite measurements, the unit has a standard 230VAC input and offers 0-50V and 0-10A output.

With built-in GPS synchronization and USB connectivity, engineers are now able to take accurate readings, the data is recorded on the module and can be downloaded either onsite or back at base.

Duvine have now been selected by AWTG Ltd to provided the power capabilities to the new Worcestershire 5G Consortium testbed.

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership  has confirmed that the county has been successful in its bid for Government funding to test and explore 5G connectivity, in order to revolutionise the way future business will operate both in the UK and globally. 5G is the next generation of mobile technology. When it becomes available in the UK in the next three years, 5G is expected to have a profound impact on the global economy and the way people live their lives. According to the GSMA, as many as 1.4 billion 5G connections are predicted by 2025, as well as a host of new technologies not yet imagined.

The Worcestershire 5G Consortium will begin the country’s most comprehensive industrial 5G Testbed trial with a team of 5G specialists and business experts, pioneering the concept of ‘Industry 4.0’. The consortium of partners includes local infrastructure providers, national network operators and research and development facilities. They are: Worcestershire County Council, 5GIC at University of Surrey, AWTG, Huawei, O2, BT, and Malvern Hills Science Park.

The 5G Testbed will provide a revolutionary platform for local and national businesses to develop next-generation technology focused on improving the UK’s industrial productivity. Worcester Bosch and Yamazaki Mazak have already been selected to experiment with preventative and assisted maintenance using robotics, big data analytics and augmented reality. QinetiQ, the multinational defence technology company, will use the Test Bed to advance cyber security application, providing assurances on the ‘security by design’ of IoT technology.

Worcestershire LEP is taking the lead in building a connected, creative, dynamic economy that delivers increased prosperity for all those who choose to live, work, and invest in Worcestershire. The LEP is now working with the Midlands Engine with a view to widening the availability of 5G across the region.

The installation consists of 5 Power Equipment Rack’s (PER) rated at 48VDC 4.8kW, capable of supplying Base Band Units (BBUs) Transceiver units. The system is complete with its own DC distribution consisting of single pole MCBs, complete with over-current protection of the DC line. AC input distribution is also provided.

It was the first time in 50 years that the event has been held in the UK.

We spent the week talking about everything Cathodic Protection related: from power supplies, cabinets, remote monitoring and control, to requirements for “off potential” measurements on reference cells and much much more. It was exciting to be able to show off our ICCP power solutions to a broader audience. We also met a multitude of people, new and old and had some very interesting and lively conversations.

We would like to thank CeoCor and ICorr for organising the event and to all those whom we met. We look forward to the next congress in Copenhagen in 2019

Duvine have again been selected to provided additional power capabilities, to extend the range and expansion plans for the fledgling 5G network.

The installation consists of a further Power Equipment Rack (PER) rated at 48VDC 24kW capable of supplying twenty-three Base Band Units (BBUs) Transceiver units requiring 1000W each. The system is complete with its own DC distribution consisting of single pole MCBs complete with over-current protection of the DC line. AC input distribution is also provided.

Multiple rectifier modules are utilised in the PER, each rectifier module converts the incoming mains 240VAC to the required -48VDC output. To provide the total power required, multiple rectifiers are required, also offering additional redundancy, such that, should one power module fail the remaining modules are capable of supplying the required load. The central controller ensures the rectifiers share output current evenly and monitors the system output volts and amps plus alarm conditions. The system is configured using Duvine’s proprietary software.

Duvine also supplied additional power modules for further Remote Radio Units (RRUs) transceiver units requiring up to 280W, to extend the range of the new 5G network. These units provide both the power required and a redundancy capability should a single rectifier fail. An optional battery backup solution is also available for real world applications.
